Russia’s long term interests will not fulfill by US games
ILNA- Playing US games will not fulfill Russia’s long term interests, Iran foreign ministry spokesman said Tuesday.
Speaking in his weekly press conference Ramin Mehmanparast commented on Russian president remarks on refusing to supply Tehran with S-300 air defense missile systems’ ‘On this issue we (Iran) have announced our position, if the case pursues according to 1929 resolution the base of this resolution is illegal and this resolution does not include weapons and defensive system.
Iran foreign ministry spokesman said ‘’ the political pressures has no effect on our nation and government, we have paid high price for our independence, imposed 8 years imposed war is an example of that.
’’ He added ‘’ Russia has signed a contract with Iran and both side should remain committed according to the contract.
’’ Mehmanparast said ‘’ this is a friendly advice that Russia’s long term interests will not fulfilled by entering American games.’’
Iran says nuclear plant unaffected by virus as industrial computers struck
LATIMES -Iran said its Bushehr nuclear power plant is safe after confirming some of its industrial computers have been targeted by a computer worm and that it is working to counter the cyber-attack.
"Investigations show that some private software of the power plants employees have been contaminated.
" The cyber assault has had no impact on the operations of the plant, Jahfari said. The IP addresses of 30,000 computer systems infected by the Stuxnet worm have been detected, state-run Mehr news agency reported earlier, citing Mahmoud Liaii, director of the Information Technology Council of the Ministry of Industries and Mines.
A worm is a self-replicating piece of malicious software, or malware.
Iran’s FM chairs ECO meeting in New York
Addressing the meeting, Mottaki briefed the audience on several problems facing the world of Islam in the past one year, including sacrilege of the Holy Quran, attack on the Gaza aid convoy, and the recent Pakistani flood.
The recent ECO projects and initiatives, importance of transit of goods in expansion of regional cooperation, establishment of Pakistan-Iran-Turkey railroad and ECO cooperation with other international bodies were among other issues discussed by Mottaki.
During the meeting, the draft resolution on cooperation between the United Nations and ECO was finalized. The ministers also agreed to establish the ECO food security center in Turkey and its veterinary center in Tehran.
The next ECO summit meeting is to be held in Istanbul on December 22-23. The Informal CoM meeting is an annual event organized on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.
The purpose is to avail the opportunity of the presence of the ECO foreign ministers in New York during this time and to discuss matters of common interest. The CoM is an apex decision-making body of ECO that meets annually. The ECO is a ten-member regional organization comprising Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
