Veteran diplomats see Iran unrest as all-out hybrid warfare

Tehran, IRNA – A number of veteran diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic have signed a statement, which describes the recent unrest in Iran as an instance of an all-out hybrid warfare waged by the enemies.

The former diplomats emphasized that upgrading national unity, promoting unison among different religions and tribes, as well as creating harmony among various political tendencies, can help foil the hybrid warfare.

They also condemned atrocious and heinous attacks by the terrorists and rioters, as well as plots hatched by the foes, calling on Iranian elite to help defend Islam, the Islamic Revolution and the holy establishment of the Islamic Republic in order to act in line with their national and religious duties.

The glorious Islamic Revolution was formed as a new phenomenon in the international arena under the leadership of Imam Khomeini to chant the motto of independence, freedom and Islamic republic, and it pursues its goals under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to create a modern Islamic civilization, the statement underlined.

This revolution has presented freedom-loving nations with an exemplary pattern of an independence country, while revitalizing sublime Islamic and humanitarian values in different scientific, technical, defensive, nuclear, political, cultural and economic areas, it said, adding that the global arrogance led by the United States and in cooperation with the Zionist regime, as well as the European troika (Britain, France and Germany) and certain regional countries have hatched various plots with the aim of targeting territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation.

The recent two-month-long unrest came out of the enemies' conspiracies; so, the internal and external elements behind the riots should be scrutinized in order to be presented to the great Iranian nation, the statement noted, arguing that the recent unrest is an example of all-out hybrid warfare, hatched and guided by the CIA in cooperation with the Zionist regime, certain European and regional countries by the use of all intelligence, media and operational equipment against the Iranian nation.

The enemies plan to misuse domestic differences and dissatisfactions in order to turn them into riots and destructive unrest to create erosive insecurity and get in the way of progress in the Islamic country, it said, noting that the foes spread fake news to influence public opinion.

The only way out of the hybrid warfare is that different strata should be promoted to accompany the government in this fight by the use of media campaign to build confidence, it added.
