Opposition to Nuclear Deal not Limited to US Congress
Without discussing the context of the nuclear deal, I am very happy that most political circles and people are relatively satisfied with it; even if according to one of my dear friends, who is a famous historian, the date of the day of announcement of this agreement coincides with the date that Resolution 598 was issued 28 years ago and upon which philosophical, historical, … interpretations could be made. Thus, I hope that by writing this text the happiness of the people would further continue.
On Thursday, the US administration defended its nuclear deal with Iran in Congress. Based on the statement made by Susan Rice, the Obama administration will do its utmost to convince the Congress. But there have been reports of a group of people in New York against this deal who chanted slogans against Iran and this agreement. It is said that these protests are aimed at exerting pressure on the Democratic Senator of New York who plays a significant role in gaining the consensus of the Democrats.
On July 21, an article by Eli Clifton was published on LobeLog. It is written in this article that the opponents of this deal have 60 days to deviate the path of this agreement. They will use these 60 days to exert pressure on the representatives who owe their parliamentarian seats to these lobbies.
He mentions 8 centers which are active in this regard which in 2013 had a budget of more than 145 million dollars to pursue any initiative against these negotiations. These groups are familiar for those who follow the activities of the Zionists in the US. He points out the positions of these groups in seriously disagreeing with Obama and the nuclear deal. He further states that secret money which was also used to launch propaganda and publish ads against this deal in the media and television should be added to the above-mentioned budget. Mr. Clifton then concludes that since many of the wealth centers in the US along with the Republicans and Netanyahu himself are committed to cancel this deal, Obama would be faced with difficult challenges to advance his achievements.
But this is one side of this issue. The Obama administration has been able to pursue negotiation and agreement against the option of war. This position is clearly seen in the speeches made by the US officials. Thus, the Zionist lobby should make great efforts to convince the US Congress that no agreement and exerting pressure on Iran would not necessarily mean that they are pursuing the option of war. But it seems that their task is more difficult than that of Obama’s.
The other side of the issue is outside of the US. It seems impossible that Iran’s parliament would create great challenges for this deal. Most of the opposition of the groups and inside circles are based on the issue that their role in this admiring negotiation is far less than they had imagined or why their team did not have the capacity and capability of the present team or their international reputation.
What is important now is that during the pressures exerted on the US Congress to cancel the nuclear deal, a “terrorist” incident might suddenly happen in a part of the world and the Zionist lobby would attempt to accuse Iran of it. If such an incident happens, then the conditions would be more desirable for the Zionist lobby in the US, hence, one must be well aware of these political conspiracies.
It could easily be observed in the years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran that any time that Iran has pursued logical and acceptable policies to enter international transactions in line with its national interests, it was faced with an event which has cast a shadow on its ideals and objectives. In most of these cases, it was the Zionist regime which took advantage of these situations. Right now, Iran’s influence and presence in the region is not only cultural and spiritual but also physical. Therefore, it is more vulnerable than the past. Iran’s presence and influence are different from others and that is why more attention is paid to it.
We must be aware of the atmosphere which may be created by international Zionism against Iran.
