Embassy Source Rejects Reports on Arrest of Iranian National in Syria

(FNA)- An informed source at the Iranian Embassy in Syria rejected the western media reports on the capture of an Iranian national by terrorist groups.

"The report is absolutely unfounded," the informed source told the Iranian students' news agency.

Reuters had claimed that a rebel group is seeking to exchange an Iranian national, who was allegedly taken captive in the southwestern province of Daraa last month, with some rebel women held in Syrian government jails.

Last month, Leader of Sham Unified Front Abu Ahmad claimed his forces captured the Iranian national as he was fighting alongside government forces in the province.
