FM Offers Condolences to Indonesian Counterpart over Fatal Plane Crash
(FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif offered his condolences to his Indonesian counterpart Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi and nation over the death of the entire crew and passengers of an Air Asia passenger plane.
"The tragic incident of AirAsia passenger plane crash which resulted in the death of a number of Indonesian nationals was the cause of sorrow and regret," Zarif said.
Zarif sympathized with the Indonesian government and all the bereaved family members of the victims of the crashed plane on behalf of the Islamic Republic's government and nation.
Indonesian rescuers searching for an AirAsia plane carrying 162 people pulled bodies and wreckage from the sea off the coast of Borneo on Tuesday.
Indonesia AirAsia's Flight QZ8501, an Airbus A320-200, lost contact with air traffic control last Sunday during bad weather on a flight from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.
