Iran armed forces countering all enemy threats: Cmdr.
A senior Iranian naval commander says the country’s armed forces track all the enemy’s moves and will suppress any threats.
“Iran’s Army monitors everything in the region and beyond the region, and analyzes any move, and will create the necessary potential in the Armed Forces appropriate to the situation,” Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Friday.
He added that Iran has made great military achievements and will show a tough reaction to anyone who poses a threat to the country.
Sayyari emphasized that Iran’s naval forces provide full security for Iranian goods and ships in the high seas, and will “give a crushing response to pirates if they lunch any attack.”
The Iranian commander pointed to successful missions by the country’s naval fleet in international waters, including the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, and said the Navy would use its full potential to combat the enemy.
Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector, attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems and enhanced the preparedness of its forces by holding various drills.
In recent years, Iran’s Navy has been increasing its presence in international waters to protect naval routes and provide security for merchant vessels and tankers.
In line with international efforts to combat piracy, the Iranian Navy has also been conducting anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden since November 2008 to safeguard the vessels involved in maritime trade, especially the ships and oil tankers owned or leased by Iran.
