Rouhani urges NAM to take solid action to restore Palestiniansˈ rights

IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani here on Monday urged the
Non-Aligned Movement to take solid steps towards restoring the rights of the Palestinian nation.

The President made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the foreign ministerial meeting of the NAMˈs Palestine Committee.

He said that NAM in its capacity as an international organization should take fundamental steps to mobilize its numerous potentials and capabilities to materialize peace and restore rights of the defenseless nation of Palestine.


He further voiced confidence that the current meeting indicates the importance the NAM member states attach to the Palestinian issue which is the longest unsettled conflict of the contemporary world.

President Rouhani expressed hope that the ministerial meeting of Palestine in Tehran could provide a good opportunity for exploring the ongoing conditions in the occupied Palestine especially in Gaza.

He urged the participants to focus on working out practical ways to render help to the brave people of Gaza who are caught in a web of colonial plots.

The one-day meeting of the foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movementˈs Palestine Committee opened here Monday morning with participation of officials from 40 world countries.

Algeria, Bangladesh, Cuba, Iran, Egypt, India, Senegal, South Africa, Zambia, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Indonesia and Malaysia form the committee.
