Iran, Lebanon Call for Immediate Aid Delivery to Gaza

(FNA)- The Iranian and Lebanese officials in a meeting in Beirut condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and called for immediate dispatch of aid delivery to the affected people in the besieged enclave.

During the meeting in the Lebanese capital on Thursday, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali and Lebanese Health Minister Wael Abu Faour underlined the need for immediate aid delivery to the oppressed war-hit people in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, the Iranian envoy voiced the Iran’s readiness to dispatch humanitarian aid to Gaza via Egypt.

Fathali also said that Tehran is ready to treat in Iran the Palestinians that have been injured in Israel’s attacks.

Earlier this week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a phone talk with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for cooperation and immediate efforts by Islamic countries to render effective help and assistance to the people in Gaza, stop the Zionist regime's attacks and remove the siege of the enclave.

"If Cairo provides the ground for cooperation and sending goods, Tehran and Ankara can plan for collecting and sending humanitarian aids of the region and the Muslim world to help the oppressed people of Gaza," President Rouhani said.

Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 25 consecutive days, killing at least 1,400 people and injuring more than 8,200 others.
