Germany Iran Cooperation in Tourism

Germany halted tourism cooperation with Iran about six years ago, but after Iran's presidential election in August 2013, Germany has sought to expand its tourism cooperation activities with Iran.

A German tourism activist praised Iran's eye-catching tourist resorts and destinations and historical sites, and voiced Berlin's enthusiasm for dispatching more tourists to Iran.

“We are looking for the expansion of activities in Iran’s tourism industry,” Publicity Manager of German Sky Air Tourism Company Frank Grafestin, who headed a 10-member delegation, said during a visit to Kashan’s tourism and historical sites on Friday.

Iran and Germany have tried to expand their bilateral relations in recent years through reciprocal visits by the two countries' officials.
