Leader calls for war on poverty
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has told government officials to take measures to eliminate poverty, unemployment, and discrimination in Iran.
He made the remarks in Tehran on Tuesday, during a meeting with hundreds of people from the western province of Ilam, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), which is also Father’s Day in Iran.
The Leader noted that the country can overcome economic problems and improve the people’s financial status through making use of the ample internal potential of the country and relying on the capabilities of Iran’s young people.
“Under such circumstances, the country will make progress in the areas of the economy, morals, and ethics as well as in international prestige, national dignity, and self-confidence,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
The Leader also said that if the country unlocks its internal potential and relies on its strength, neither the United States nor any other power will be able to harm Iran militarily or in any other way.
“The powers should be aware that the Iranian nation will not be brought to its knees because Iran is a dynamic nation and the country’s young people are travelling on the right path,” he added.
