Iran summons Afghan diplomat
(MNA) – Foreign Ministry on Saturday summoned the Afghan charge d’affaires, Shah Mardan Qol, to protest about the murder of an Iranian young girl by an Afghan national in Yazd province and the commotion created by certain Afghan media outlets about the alleged mistreatment of Afghan nationals in Iran.
Mohsen Pak Ayeen, the director of the Afghanistan Department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, condemned the murder of the Iranian national and called on the Afghan Embassy to fulfill its duty to inform Afghan nationals about Iranian laws.
He also censured certain Afghan officials who had claimed that Iran’s judicial dealing with such offenses is in violation of international law.
The Afghan diplomat also expressed regret about the incident, thanked the Islamic Republic for fair treatment of Afghan nationals, and said that offenders should be dealt with based on law.
