Tehran’s new ambassadors to Syria, Pakistan, South Africa named
Mohammadreza Sheibani, Alireza Haqiqian, and Mohammad Faraji are the new ambassadors to Damascus, Islamabad, and Pretoria respectively, the Mehr News Agency has learnt.
Sheibani is currently serving as deputy foreign minister for Middle East and Commonwealth of Independent States affairs. He will replace Ahmad Mousavi who is the current ambassador of Iran to Syria.
Haqiqian formerly served as ambassador to Armenia. He will set off for Islamabad by the time Mashallah Zakeri, the current ambassador, finishes his tenure.
Faraji used to serve as the director of the Foreign Ministry department for Southern and Eastern African affairs. He replaces former ambassador to Pretoria Asghar Ebrahimi.
Ali Ahani, Amir Mansour Bourqeii, Abolfazl Zohrevand, and Asghar Mohammadi had previously been named as the new ambassadors to France, Japan, Afghanistan, and the Philippines respectively.
